Winner of the Pan American championships last spring, Thomas Scott (-75 kg) was again in Montreal at the last SeriesA of the summer. The American dominated Kazakhstan’s Ainazarov in the ½ final (6-4) before beating quite easily Turkey’s Eltemur in the final (4-0).

Three other adidas Team members were close to gold. Japan’s Naoto Sago (-60 kg), World silver medallist last November, narrowly lost (1-0) to the untouchable Darkan Assadilov of Kazakhstan, who signs his 5th win in a row in Canada !

Burak Uygur (-67 kg) bows only to the flags (after a 0-0) against Japan’s Kozaki. The two-time European champion (2017, 2018) will defend his 2015 European Games title next week in Minsk (June 22-25).

Unqualified for Belarus, Germany’s Johanna Kneer decided to try herself in the higher category. With brilliance since she reached the +68 kg final. But she lost to Italy’s Ferracuti, declared winner at the decision (0-0).
